Aside from the eye candy improvement, the huge improvement on Vista is the security. You can't easily alter anything easily unlike in XP without a permission even if you are running an admin account. In that way it prevents or minimizes the damage online threats can bring into your computer.

Vista still has a standard taskbar but win7 has a superbly designed taskbar that won't make garbage to your 15' crt desktop.

aside from graphical differences, I think the security in Vista has vastly improve. the big disadvantage in vista is the compatibility issues and resources hogging.

Above all difference this is what I like actually that's why I replaced our windows now.

my brother is using vista in his laptop..its like a package deal when buying the laptop..so far no complains yet..on the OS he is using..since the laptop is an ortho 2 dou thing and heard that vista is compatible with the new computers of today..so it means that vista is a no no to old models..not compared to Windows XP that can be use in old and new ones..
