Ive heard this couple of times already...can anybody here can give me some ideas what is the edge of Windows 7 from Vista and Xp?

I have been running Win7 on my notebook for a week or so and to my surprise it is working exceptionally well. Apart from a few minor quirks windows 7 is certainly good. When comparing with Vista it consumes less space and supports most of its drives. However I do believe that it is hard to compare windows 7 and vista as we are not sure about both OS compatibility features and bugs.

My friend updates his OS to windows7 via internet patches. Is this possible? I am not convinced, anyone tried it?
