This has been my problem ever since i want to get a gaming rig. The new high end cards suck up as much as 190 watts of power. If you combine all your system, you can get more than 300 watts of consumption ending up sucking like an Electric Iron.

I'll be hoping for the day that graphics card won't draw too much power and save elec. bills.

There is one solution that i recommend to you to cut power consumption.
First, do not use graphics card, just share it with your memory instead.
Second, do not play high quality, high graphics demand games.
Third, do not play computer games since almost all good games requires high quality graphics.
After all, you will realize that PC games are just a waste of time, money and energy, unless you earn a living through it.

I'm a gamer at heart. Nothing is better than to play HD games on a PC. But I'm stil waitin for low power cards to come out.

My pc sucks power like a flat iron or even more than that when gaming. I really want to cut down power consumption, Those 40nm gpus are phat.
