If you are just air cooling it I would suggest 3.6ghz if you are new to overclocking. Make sure the CPU is stepping C0.
As for gaming you didnt list your video card. If it has onboard video expect to be dissapointed in 3D gaming.

3.6 is pushing it on air... I'd start out at 3.0, run Prime95 watch temps, then go 3.2, then 3.4. Play with the voltage. Once you find the thresh hold on your stability you will know when to stop. I thought G0 stepping ran cooler??

dell pcs usually block the bios, so you can't make any adjustments to the cpu clock, the Q6600 that's in this pc will clock over 3 ghz with good cooling, (zalman etc) you wont fry it no, but you need to learn alot more about overclocking before trying, but then again you have to start somewhere. check with dell, but I think you may be out of luck. why not build your own, then you can experiment to your hearts content.
