I have a desktop computer with MSI RS482M4-ILD motherboard running AMD Athlon 64 processor. I have 1GB Corsair DDR RAM. Nowadays the PC games are more resource-crunching so I want to upgrade my machine with a faster processor to run GTA4, Mercenaries 2 and other games. Can you suggest what processor can I upgrade my machine keeping the same motherboard ? My motherboard suggests having 939 socket with 1GB FSB support. I need something equivalent to 2.6 - 3.0 GHz speed, preferably core-two-duo , is it possible and feasible without upgrading my motherboard ? Suggestions will be welcome. Please also mention the price in INR for the processor.

ou can not have two processors in one computer but is possible to switch out the one that is in there for a better one you just have to make sure they are both the same socket cpu. Mine is running a LGA 775 socket CPU so that is the only kind i can switch it out for. you can find out what socket your cpu is by downloading a program called cpu-z

you cant change or upgrade your processor if you will not change your motherboard..is your motherboard can be upgraded? if not then better yet you must buy a new computer..
