Default Confusing Question regarding Intel G31 Motherboard ?

what is the meaning of original Intel G31 Motherboard is it manufactured by intel themselves, Because i also came across other manufacturers of G31 including Gigabyte, Mercury, Asus and even some Chinese companies like zebronics so which one is the best,And does Intel G31 meet the resolution standards of a 22 inch monitor ie (1680 x 1050) Thanks for answering.

G31 is a chipset made by intel. it is distributed to manufacturing partners while intel makes motherboards themselves based on the chipset they make. usually, intel boards are stable but their partners improve stuffs for the motherboard like adding a better soundcard, an all solid capacitors, some energy saving features, overclocking features which the intel board lacks. just be sure to get an asus or gigabyte brand.

as for the G31, i suggest you get a better discrete video card than use a built-in. they perform better than the built-ins. i suggest nvidia gf 9800GT or gts 250 1GB. tested to work on 1680 x 1050 resolution games. or if you have money, go for gtx 260 216
