Default Internet and mobile communication

I have a friend of mine, his passion is in mobile communication...currently his developing a program and a device that allow him to control electric devices using mobile phonse or the internet connection....its really a WOW thing!

What do you think on that technology?

Wow, that's amazing.

What sort of devices can you control with your mobile phone? I'm curious.

I think this is a known technology. It is also called as remote sensing. You have to use Infra red rays in order to operate other devices it is just like the working of TV remote control. However it is also a difficult thing to do if the device is systematically large and complex to operate.

Actually anything electrical as long as it is connected to the programmed device...now his using bluetooth technology not infrared....what the good thing is if your cellphone is not available you can still control the device using the internet...

I also have that technology but my bluetooth crashed! The bluetooth IC overheated.

Default Remote sensing.. I think

That's remote sensing if I recall correctly. Its been developed now, I saw it in TV. And for me, that's a wow thing. Imagine controlling computer devices with your CP. It can be used for security purposes that is helpful you know.

Isn't that risky? Other people can control your things, too, then?

I think it will be too risky unless the device has no high level of protection from the third party....for me, i think...it was already considered by the programmer.

Dish or DirecTV have this feature. You can control your DVR from your computer over the internet or your mobile phone. I'm not sure of it's the same technology you're referring to, but it's still cool
