Default Do you really need anything faster than a C2duo 3ghz procie?

IMHO, the processor speeds are literally meaningless these days unless you have a better purpose than everyday gaming and video editing.

Mine is a 3ghz core2duo with 2mb of cache can do anything i throw at it and doesn't complain either. I think the next step to this threshold is a new SSD so you can get a nice boost right?

Yea, not much out there that needs more except for video encoding.

Yep, anything that can crunch a 1m computation of Superpi in under 20 seconds is a great processor.
