I too use an air compressor. I would say as it turns out I blow mine out around 3-4 times a year and sometimes then it doesn't show much buildup. I like to keep a tidy home. I dust twice a week and vacuum at least once a day, I think this helps in preventing dust accumulation in my cpu too.

I clean my entire CPU every 2 months. Because my place is prone to dust that's why I clean it every 2 months. I use air compressor to clean my computer. But before I use my air compressor I always drain the water from the tank.

i disassemble them and with ear sticks (you know the ones you use to clean your ears from wax) and i oil them a little with vasseline and they are silent and work with 100-150 rpm faster and of course as silent as ever

It is adviseable even if you are not openning your computer to clean, you at least blow off the dust, like once after every two weeks, to reduce the dust inside.

How you often clean up your CPU fan and computer in general, will be determined by several factors: like where the computer is located, e.g. home or office, the environment of your computer, eg. do you smoke near your computer, or have pets in the same room, and also who uses the computer, (age wise).

I'm trying to find these on my local hardware store but got no luck.
I use this one too. It's effective to my monitor and keyboard. I used it on fan recently and it works also.

You should try compressed air spray. The best about it is nothing could get damaged during the process. You could find some good offers in Ebay i guess.
Good Luck.
