Broken Sounds

I have a ECS pt890-ta motherboard and its acting weird lately. I have broken sounds coming off from the system ( sounded like a 24 kb Mp3 ) . I have changed speakers as well as tried a USB sound card but the sound is still worse than an AM radio. How do you fix this guys?

This is just a thought - Did you install software that caused your settings to default to an older driver or the soundcard that came with your computer?

I know you mentioned the USB sound card. Maybe it wasn't selected properly? My tech guru advised me against installing a piece of interesting software because he said it would mess up my soundcard settings.

Perhaps it was reverted. Sound devices often screw up when something gets installed.

Still having the same issue, I guess I'll just have to replace the mobo but then again, It'll happen sometime when it gets broken.

I don't have any other specific suggestions for your problem, but I've been surprised before at how many times there can be more than one problem contributing to a symptom.

Good luck with that. I guess you just have to go through the process of elimination till you find the cause.
