CDirectSound:IDirectSound->Initialize failed. HELP!!!

Hello guys! I accidentally uninstalled this: AC97. A sound file I'm sure. I didn't paid much attention to at first. I'm using a laptop by the way. Compaq. OS: Windows XP. I noticed the gravity of the problem when I opened my NES emulator. That's when it didn't run and this window came up stating this:

CDirectSound:IDirectSound->Initialize failed.

That's the time also when I noticed there was no sound in my laptop anymore.

Help please... Please please please. Thanks in advance.

Yep, that should have been on the startup programs, just download it back from Realtek and you should be fine.
