Have you experienced your non external device not working like printers or scanners?
If you forgot to turn it on before you boot you computer you will have to turn it off again to do the procedure since the computer doesn't recognize them.
Very frustrating.
So make sure you always power them up before booting your PC.
Wait. That's not just my advice.
If you forgotten it again, there's a way now to make it easy and not re-boot tour PC just to recognize them.
Right-click My computer, select Device Manager, then click refresh. Your computer now will refresh your hardware profile.
This always happens to us and most people don;t know this
so I thought of sharing the idea. I've learned this tip from a friend of mine who saw me re-booting my computer just because I forgot to turn my scanner first.
