DDR3 memory generally offers greater data transfer speed with lower power consumption than DDR2 memory.
The performance difference is GET THE DDR3!
It is triple channel RAM so 1GB of DDR2 would be the equivalent of 750MB of DDR3.The DDR3 has 50% more memory capacity. It processes data much faster and can hold effectively "more data" than DDR2 although being the same size.
